This place has so much potential! The facilities, location, view and staff are there! The whole place just needs a good lick of paint and some touch-ups to make it an amazing hotel - it's all just pretty tired really

Tired place that needs doing up

The staff are very helpful and polite. The view of Lamai is breathtaking.

The entire property is in a poor decorative state. Shoddy repairs and poor materials and workmanship abound. The photos of our room on booking.com didn’t compare to the condition of our room. Our room was 130 steps down the cliff with no elevator on the site, so returning to the room for a forgotten item is too much! The location is poor. There’s no shopping or restaurants nearby. You need to get a taxi to Lamai or Cheweng.

the pictures of the property make it look inviting and luxurious. the reality was the rooms were not 4 star standard and full of mosquitoes. lots of lights of steps up and down to the room and lots of debris / rubbish on the hill side disappointed as it was not 4 star standard

Now traveling across Thailand we miss our home at Merit hotel. We should have stayed longer. Our apartment/room had easy access to the pool, the restaurant, the gym, meditation room and a short walk down to the secret beach. The room was spacious and clean, and every day the staff came and tidied up and emptied our bins and gave us water. The staff at Merit hotel were like family, friendly and happy and always wanting to help. It's a great location over looking the waters of our room to the sea, we could hear the water and sea from our room. We also had a nice balcony, the area was also super quiet and everyone who stayed was respectful. Also the restaurant had great views and the food was amazing including some new foods and drinks which we discovered.

The bath wasn't working, there was an issue with the plumbing and the bathtub wouldn't fill up. I did raise this with one of the staff but it didn't get resolved but it wasnt an issue because the rest of the space was perfect and we also had a working shower.

the instalations are under construction and it looks like no one is taking care of tue resort, only the restaurant for visitors. we cancelled the reservation and left the hotel the day after. it was a shame for us :(

Tolle Anlage mit schöner Privatbucht, schönes Zimmer und guter Service.

Besonders erwähnenswert ist definitiv der wunderschöne Ausblick! Die Unterkunft ist ein wenig in die Jahre gekommen, aber noch sehr gut in Schuss.

Der Pool ist leider gekippt...

Super sauber, grandioser Ausblick, schöne Ausstattung, Personal immer freundlich und hilfsbereit. Das Hotel ist zwar bei der Außenanlage in die Jahre gekommen und es gab wohl einen Erdrutsch aber trotzdem fühlt man sich wohl und innen ist alles top und das Preis-Leistungs Verhältnis stimmt. Wenn es nicht in die Jahre gekommen wäre müsste man wohl auch ab 120€ die Nacht zahlen wie nebenan. Im Bad ist eine Badewanne mit Blick auf das Meer. Pool ist auch sehr schön. Fitness ist dabei mit Laufband. Direkt nebenan gibt es Yoga. Gegenüber gibt es einen Minimarkt und super Rollerverleih.

Man könnte die Baustelle und unschönen Stellen besser verdecken mit Bambus oder anderen Sichtschutz

The beautiful view over the ocean, the room is clean and comfortable. The personnel is friendly and helpful.
